The vehicles embodies the classic styling for Jeep models and offers the best driving and handling capability as well as off-road performance.
During the release of the all-new 2007 Jeep Patriot last year, George Murphy, Senior Vice President for Global Marketing of Chrysler Group said:
With Patriot, Jeep continues to expand globally by offering a fun-to-drive, fuel-efficient and affordably priced Jeep vehicle designed to appeal to youthful customers and people with active lifestyles who may have always wanted a Jeep vehicle but, until now, may not have been able to afford one,?said. Patriot has all the credibility and cachet of the Jeep brand at a very affordable price.
Two model trims are available for the US market the Jeep Patriot Sport and Jeep Patriot. Both models will be available in global markets in the first half of 2007. All Jeep Patriot models are equipped with standard features like, driver-controlled three-mode electronic stability control system (ESP) with Traction Control, Electronic Roll Mitigation and anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Brake Assist (BA). Other standard or optional features found on the 2007 Jeep Patriot include power windows, , speed-sensitive power locks, power foldaway mirrors, remote keyless entry, 115-volt outlet in the center console, six-disc CD player with MP3 capability, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, UConnect hands-free communication system, Jeep Floor mat, leather-trimmed bucket seats, and heated front seats, to name the few.
Moreover, the all-new 2007 Jeep Patriot also comes with three available drive-train configurations: the standard front-wheel-drive (FWD) system, and the company's patented Freedom Drive I and the Freedom Drive II Off-road Package drive systems. The Freedom Drive I feature a four-wheel-drive (4WD) drivetrain system with Lock mode that enables drivers to have the ability to take on rough weather conditions as well as low traction surfaces including snow, sand, or mud. Like the Freedom Drive I, the Freedom Drive II Off-road Package also comes with a 4WD system along with a second-generation continuously variable transaxle with low range (CVT2L). The CVT2L engages when the driver activates the off-road mode. With this system, the 2007 Jeep Patriot has an improved off-road and all-terrain capability.
The standard available engine under the hood of all 2007 Jeep Patriot models is the 2.4-liter World Engine capable of pumping out 172 hp and 165 lb-ft amount of peak torque. The engine is combined with either a standard 5-speed manual gearbox or an optional continuously variable transmission (CVT2) found on the Freedom Drive II Off-road Package.
