Jeep: Washing off dirt from the windshield via the Jeep Windshield Wiper Motor

Since the Jeep is virtually on the road each day, taking advantage of its rugged and best-in-class overall performance, it is imperative that its parts and accessories perform their job up to specs, 24 by 7. Treading through muddy pavements or either snowy roads could be a hassle while driving. Thus, the wiper assembly should operate at an optimum to ensure driving comfort amidst the harshest environment. The workforce that prompts the wiper assembly to function is the Jeep Windshield Wiper Motor.

Installed just in front of the windshield along the premises of the heater wiper motor tray, is the Jeep Windshield Wiper Motor. It contains the motor controller, for regulating an output shaft based on the information received from a rotational position sensor and a mechanical resistance sensor. This sort of electronic circuit maintains the power to the wipers until they are parked at the bottom of the windshield, then cuts the power to the motor. It also parks the wipers between wipes when they are on their intermittent setting. This motor inside the Jeep Windshield Wiper Motor can change the instantaneous RPM or output torque of the motor based on the rotational position of the wiper arm or the amount of mechanical resistance coupled to the output shaft of the motor.

Some wiper systems for the Jeep come in two non-mechanically linked motors, including a motor contoller to prevent the wiper arms coupled to each motor from colliding. There is a linkage coupled to a motor to a reciprocating motion of a wiper arm.

Alongside side the electronic motor is the gear reduction that has the linkage to convert the rotational output of the motor into the back-and-forth motion of the wipers. A worm gear is necessary since it takes a lot of force to accelerate the wiper blades back and forth across the windshield quickly. It can multiply the torque of the motor by about 50 times, whereas slowing the output speed of the Jeep Winshield Wiper Motor by 50 times as well.

If the wiper blades intermittently start to stop across the windshield, there is a clear hint that the Jeep Windshield Wiper Motor is starting to fail. Or if the wipers park in the middle of the windshield whenever it is turned off. Thus, replacement is a healthy solution. But, when changing motors, make sure that the wiper linkage to the motor is yet to be included when installing the Jeep Windshield Wiper Motor. Do such procedure until the motor is turned on. Such measure avoids any harms the wipers scraping across the hood of the Jeep. Newer versions of wiper assemblies contain a windshield washer to aid in cleaning the windshield while driving. The washer includes a reservoir, pump, lines and nozzles to get the washer fluid to the windshield.
